High School Curriculum

Courses Specifically Designed for High School Students

The K12 online high school environment blends the best features of the company's K–5 learning environment—elegant design, compelling interactivity, ease of use of both online and offline content—with key features designed to make the high school experience successful, given the far more complex high school world of content, skills, and time management.

A Catalog of Courses for Diverse Learners

The course catalog offers core and elective courses.* Math, English, science, and history courses are offered in three versions to meet the needs of diverse learners with diverse goals. Students can chart their own course, choosing from among the three versions of courses to match their aptitude and goals.

Three Versions of Core Subjects

High school students can harness the power of individualized learning by choosing from the following three versions of math, English, science, and history courses:

  • Core courses are similar to the standard courses offered by many other programs. They meet the academic requirements for each course area both for graduation as well as for potential admission into a wide range of colleges.
  • Comprehensive courses are designed for students entering with a strong foundational knowledge and aptitude in the subject area being covered, as well as solid study skills.
  • Honors courses hold students to a greater degree of accountability, and demand even greater independence and self-discipline than their Comprehensive counterparts.

Credit Recovery

Credit recovery courses are mastery-based and allow students to focus on the areas they need most to recover credits at an accelerated pace.

*The K12 high school catalog is a complete list of the high school courses K12 provides. While GDA offers a comprehensive selection of courses, not every K12 high school course is available to GDA students. We provide a limited selection of electives but will continue to expand our offerings. Information on specific courses of study and available electives are provided upon enrollment.
